A herd of mountain goatsHere's about half of the herd of mountain goats we saw when we first got to the mountain. They were all gone by the time we went back down.

Mount Evans restaurantThis is the ruins of a restaurant that was at the top of the mountain. It apparently was destroyed when a large propane tank exploded. There are now bathrooms to the right and an observatory in the background.

The waterfall at Idaho SpringsThis is the waterfall and mill off the highway in Idaho Springs. The water is very low (it was the last day of August). In winter it turns into a fairly spectacular ice falls.
